HONORARY DOCTORATE PROGRAM (HONORRIS CAUSA)

1. Introduction

The Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) of Scandinavian College is a symbolic distinction granted to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievement, significant leadership, or noteworthy contributions to their field, community, or society.
This honorary title represents recognition, not an academic qualification.

2. Nature of the Honorary Degree

The Honorary Doctorate of Scandinavian College is a ceremonial honor issued independently from the institution’s accredited programs.

This honorary recognition:

  • Is purely honorary and symbolic

  • Is not an academic, scientific, or earned doctoral degree

  • Does not grant academic standing, professional rights, or licensure

  • Cannot be used as an academic credential

  • Should only be written as:
Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) or D.Hon.

Accreditation of Scandinavian College’s vocational diploma programs by higher education authorities in Jordan does not apply to the honorary doctorate, which is issued separately as a ceremonial distinction.

3. Purpose of the Honorary Doctorate

The honorary degree aims to acknowledge individuals who demonstrate:

10. Ethical and Legal Clarification

To ensure transparency, Scandinavian College states:

  • The Honorary Doctorate is a ceremonial recognition and not an academic degree

  • It does not grant the right to use the title “Dr.” in professional or academic contexts

  • It must be presented only as: Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) or D.Hon.

  • Any misuse of the honorary title is the responsibility of the recipient

  • Use of honorary titles may be subject to laws in the recipient’s country

By accepting the recognition, recipients acknowledge these conditions.
